About Me

I come to WSU from the Midwest, I was born and raised in Minnesota and just recently moved to Washington in June with my husband and two-year-old Siberian Husky. We moved out west to allow us to spend more doing what we love, hiking in the mountains. I received my bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from North Dakota State University in Fargo and have been working in research for about eight years at the Mayo Clinic and then for industry at Biotechne in Minneapolis. I’m currently working on a master’s degree in addition to working at WSU.

In my spare time I like to…

In my spare time I enjoy hiking, backpacking, kayaking, and traveling with my husband and my goofball dog. When I’m actually home, some of my favorite things to do are cooking, reading, and I’m an avid gamer. My husband and I also share a love of homebrewing – we make wine, beer and cider when we get the chance.

Why WSU?

I came to work at WSU because I appreciate the research opportunities and new technologies the university can provide to conduct impactful research. I am excited to work at an institution that emphases collaboration and teamwork to approach science in new ways.
