About Me

I am originally from southeastern Michigan and became interested in pharmacy in high school when I had the opportunity to shadow pharmacists at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. That experience showed me how impactful pharmacists can be to patient care through their drug expertise. I attended the University of Michigan where I received my Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. After receiving my Doctor of Pharmacy, I stayed at the University of Michigan as a Clinical Pharmacy Translational Science Post-Doctoral Fellow where I worked in the Hertz lab focusing on drug-drug interactions and pharmacogenomics.

I greatly enjoyed my time during my fellowship spending time teaching and conducting research, which led me to pursue a career in academia. I continue to conduct research in pharmacogenomics and drug-drug interactions. I currently teach in Introduction to Therapeutic Agents: Top 200 (Pharmacy 507), Health Care Systems (Pharmacy 516), and Quality Assurance and Patient Safety (Pharmacy 559).

In my spare time I like to…

I enjoy hiking and kayaking with my husband. I also like spending time with my two dogs: a corgi and a rescue dog.

Why WSU?

I really liked the culture of WSU and the emphasis placed on teaching excellence. It was a strong match for my interests and priorities. I also had always wanted to move out west to be closer to the mountains for hiking and skiing.
