Dr. Kishor Shrestha earned his bachelor degree in Civil Engineering, his master’s in Construction Management, and his PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on Construction Engineering/Management. His research focuses on domain of Innovative Contracting Method – Performance-Based Contracting (PBC), Life-Cycle Cost Analysis (LCCA), Construction/Highway Safety, and Benchmarking of Construction/Maintenance Methods. Kishor partners with states and industry solving their problems in his research areas. He is author of one book, six peer-reviewed journals, and 13 conference papers on the subjects of PBC, LCCA, Construction Safety, and in other subjects of civil/construction engineering/management. Kishor is also the reviewer of the Journal of Legal Affairs and Dispute Resolution in Engineering and Construction, Journal of Automation in Construction, Journal of Construction Innovation, Journal of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Associated Schools of Construction, and Construction Research Congress.

Kishor is also a Profession Engineer and LEED certified individual. Prior to coming to Washington State University in the fall of 2019, Kishor was in Civil Engineering department at the Montana Technological University in Butte Montana for three years. Kishor also served as an instructor for Construction Engineering Mechanics (Statics) at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas during his graduate study in 2016.

Kishor has around nine years of construction industry experience in Nepal and in UAE before starting his graduate study in US. During that period, he has involved in Heavy Civil and Building Construction projects as being an engineer from contractor and as consultant as well.
