Natural Products Magnetic Resonance Database (NP-MRD)

The Natural Products Magnetic Resonance Database (NP-MRD) is an open, community-focused database and repository with NMR data for natural products and specialized metabolites. NP-MRD contains raw data (FIDs), curated data from the literature (chemical shifts, assignments, coupling constants), predicted data (from DFT calculations and machine learning), and simulated spectra. The database also has structures, coordinates, conformational ensembles, synonyms, citations, chemotaxonomy, links to other databases, search and other tools, and data deposition interfaces.

Biomolecular Structure and Function

  • Application of NMR spectroscopy and mass spectrometry to understand biomolecular structure, dynamics, and function. Systems of interest include:
    • Plant proteins involved in phenylpropanoid natural product biosynthesis
    • De novo designed proteins
    • Bioactive peptides
    • Structural biopolymers, such as lignin and hemicellulose
  • Characterization and comparability analyses of complex mixtures such as plant metabolite extracts, products of biomass conversion, and heterogeneous macromolecular pharmaceuticals and supplements
  • New approaches for specialized metabolite structure elucidation
  • Discovery and characterization of interactions between synthetic or natural product-based drugs and off-target proteins
