Fabio is originally from Brazil, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Agronomist Engineering from the University of Sao Paulo, a master’s degree in Agronomy, and a Ph.D. in Sciences in the Agricultural Environmental Physics concentration area. Fabio was Associate Researcher at Brazilian Biorenewable National Laboratory, leading sustainability of sugarcane ethanol production on local water resources studies. He completed a postdoc at the Center of Nuclear Energy in Agriculture (Brazil) and at Washington State University (Civil and Environmental Engineering and Biological Systems Engineering Departments), applying analytical tools (process-based models) to understand and manage the interaction between soil, weather, and crops. His research interest and expertise are focused on the interdisciplinary soil-plant-atmosphere system, emphasizing crop water use issues with a particular interest in consumptive water estimation in distinct space-temporal scales.
