About Me

I grew up in Chewelah, Washington where I watched my aunt and uncle who were both pharmacists serve and make an impact on our small community. My aunt and uncle, who knew of my love of science, encouraged me to consider pharmacy and mentored me through my journey leading up to, throughout and after pharmacy school. I am proud to be a Washington State University College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences graduate.

Following graduation, I spent a year as a float pharmacist for Safeway/Albertsons after which I completed a Geriatric Specialty Pharmacy Residency with WSU and Providence VNA Home Health. During residency, my work with students on rotation sparked my love of teaching. I then completed a yearlong Academic Fellowship at WSU, and subsequently joined the faculty at the College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences as an assistant professor.

My interests include geriatrics, transitions of care, medication safety and scholarship of teaching and learning.

I am instructor of record for the following courses in Spokane:

Fall:
Pharmacy 507: Introduction to Therapeutic Agents: Top 200 Drugs
Pharmacy 551: APC IV: Advanced Medication Therapy Management

Spring:
Pharmacy 561: APC V: Integrated Patient Care

In my spare time I like to…

In my free time I enjoy gardening, vintage hunting and visiting new coffee shops. Additionally, one of my biggest passions outside of my work at WSU is dance. I dance with a small contemporary dance company in town called Vytal Movement Dance and I’m passionate about helping to grow the dance & arts community in Spokane. I am also a lover of exploring new places, Pilates, and doing anything and everything with my sweet black lab.

Why WSU?

I attended WSU for pharmacy school and completed two years of post-graduate training here. I am so thankful for the education I received as a result and realize that I would not be the pharmacist I am today without this program. I love how community-focused WSU is and have been continually inspired by the faculty and their commitment to education and our students. I wanted to work at WSU to follow in the footsteps of those who taught and inspired me as a student and to make an impact on our community and future pharmacists.

My Favorite Quote

“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium and will be lost.” -Martha Graham
